About the founder

Georgina is a STEM Specialist tutor, and owner of the Qualified Tutor Accredited STEM specialist tuition business, Green Tutors. In 2024 she was shortlisted for Professional Tutor of the Year, and Green Tutors was shortlisted for Tuition Business of the Year, at the National Tutoring Awards hosted by The Tutors’ Association.

Georgina qualified as a Forensic Scientist in 2005, and worked in several analytical companies including Bristol Water, NHS Blood and Transplant, and Glaxosmithkline. She has also worked in the Hertfordshire Police control room, and in the Cambridge Covid Diagnostic Testing Centre.

Throughout this varied career, Georgina’s passion was always for learning about the world and the people around her, and STEM education is where her heart is. This was the motivation for building a tutor team of STEM professionals. With this qualified team of scientists, engineers, and programmers, she has been inspiring students in their STEM studies and career choices since 2012.

Since March 2020 Georgina has been coaching teachers and tutors to bring their lessons online and grow their online businesses through her free Facebook group, one to one mentoring, and group coaching sessions.

In 2023 Georgina published the GCSE planner, Turn GCSE Stress into Exam Success. This is a step by step guide to support students through their exams. It covers wellbeing, time management, goal setting, and organisation, as well as highlighting important revision techniques and resources, and key dates through the academic year.

Georgina was the community Science Lead for Qualified Tutor, and hosted Love Tutoring Festival 3, as well as setting up the Qualified Tutor Connect membership for tutors, and hosting local Love Tutoring events for tutors in Hertfordshire.

Georgina was the East of England Community Hub leader for The Tutors’ Association, hosting online and in person networking events for members of TTA in Essex and the East of England.

Georgina hosted the Skyrocket conference with Joanne Kaminski and Michael Gibben in 2023, with two days of free training for education business owners to skyrocket their business growth.

Georgina also delivers STEM workshops and careers events in local schools as a volunteer through STEM Learning, STEMAZING, and ELSA Next Generation. Alongside this she volunteers with Tune into ASD to host Grace’s Space – a monthly social club for children with autism and their families.
